The Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts has awarded Frank Lott -- BLF founding partner and creative director -- one of its 2010 Ovation Awards. The George Mabry Award - considered to be the most prestigious of four Ovation Awards - was presented to Frank during a "High Tea" event at APSU on March 7.

The George Mabry Award was established to honor:
A living Tennessean who has made a significant impact on arts and culture in Montgomery County through philanthropy, leadership or direct involvement - or who has advanced arts and culture through strategic and innovative work in creating or supporting public policy beneficial to the arts in Montgomery County.

The Acuff Circle of Excellence Community Advisory Board selected the honoree, recognizing Frank's numerous leadership roles in civic endeavors: "A fine artist by academic training and an award-winning creative director by vocation, Frank has been a significant and tireless contributor to the Clarksville arts community for almost four decades. He is also, arguably, one of the city's premier advocates for cultural enrichment, historical interpretation, public art initiatives and overall design excellence."

Fred Landiss, senior vice president and marketing director of F&M Bank, nominated Frank for the honor. In making the nomination, Landiss noted, "While BLF clients have long reaped the rewards of Frank's creative guidance and vigorous efforts on their behalf ... we, his colleagues, feel especially privileged to witness and support his tireless commitment to make our community a better and more enriching place."
